Πύρρειος όπως φάνηκε ήταν η φιλική νίκη της ΑΕΚ επί των Λόντον Λάιονς με 102-81, αφού οι κιτρινόμαυροι έκαναν γνωστό τον τραυματισμό του Δημήτρη Μαυροειδή με σχετικά ενημέρωση τους.

«Λίγο πριν από τη λήξη της αναμέτρησης ΑΕΚ-London Lions τραυματίστηκε από χτύπημα αντιπάλου ο Δημήτρης Μαυροειδής.
Ο αρχηγός της «Βασίλισσας» υπέστη θλαστικό τραύμα δεξιάς μετωπιαίας χώρας και υπεβλήθη σε συρραφή από τον ιατρό της ομάδας, Στέφανο Καϊάφα.
Στο φωτογραφικό στιγμιότυπο, ο Μαυροειδής δέχεται τις πρώτες βοήθειες από τον ιατρό Καϊάφα και τον φυσιοθεραπευτή Γεράσιμο Αρδαβάνη».
