Ένα απρόοπτο συνέβη κατά την διάρκεια της προθέρμανσης του αγώνα της Καρσίγιανασκα με την Τουρκ Τέλεκομ, καθώς η στεφάνη έμεινε.... στα χέρια αθλητή.
Συγκεκριμένα, κατά τη διάρκεια της προθέρμανσης ο Νουσρέτ Γιλντιμίρ έκανε ένα κάρφωμα και πήρε μαζί του... και την στεφάνη.
