Μετά την επιτυχία της Ιταλίας και την πρόκριση στους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες μετά από 17 χρόνια, ο Μέο Σακέτι ανταμείφθηκε με νέο συμβόλαιο.
Όπως ανακοίνωσε ο πρόεδρος της ιταλικής ομοσπονδίας σε ραδιόφωνο της γειτονικής χώρας, ο Σακέτι θα συνεχίσει να βρίσκεται στον πάγκο έως το 2022.
Υπενθυμίζεται ότι η Ιταλία προκρίθηκε στους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες μετά από 17 χρόνια, έχοντας αφήσει εκτός τη Σερβία στο Προολυμπιακό τουρνουά.
Η τελευταία συμμετοχή των Ιταλών ήταν στους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες της Αθήνας το 2004.
