Ο Κούρο Σεγκούρα θα συνεχίσει την καριέρα του στην ΑΕΚ, αντικαθιστώντας τον Στέφανο Δέδα, με τον Ιωνικό, όμως, να έχει έτοιμη την διάδοχη κατάσταση στο πρόσωπο του Γιώργου Λιμνιάτη, ο οποίος και καλείται να διατηρήσει την ομάδα της Νίκαιας στα σαλόνια της Basket League.
Το έργο του Λιμνιάτη, πάντως, μόνο εύκολο δεν φαντάζει, τόσο λόγω της βαθμολογικής θέσης του Ιωνικού (τελευταίος με 3-13), όσο και λόγω του αποδυναμωμένου ρόστερ, μετά τις αρκετές αποχωρήσεις ξένων αλλά και Ελλήνων παικτών.
