Ο Γιαννόπουλος έχει περάσει από Ολυμπιακό, Παναθηναϊκό και ΑΕΚ, ενώ έχει αγωνιστεί επίσης και στυον Προμηθέα.
Τη σεζόν 2021-22 ο Γιαννόπουλος αγωνίστηκε με τη φανέλα του Περιστερίου έχοντας ποσοστό ευστοχίας 34.48% στο τρίποντο.
